On Halloween, Wednesday October 31st,  the UNICEF club got together and decided to pass out candy to spread awareness for those in need.

On each piece of candy, there was a small paper taped with a fact such as “HIV rates for homeless people are 3 to 9 times higher than reported rates for comparative samples in the U.S.” and “Over 38 percent of female homeless youth in Toronto survey being the victim of sexual assault.”

“I thought it was a cool idea, and a nice way to spread awareness!!” Pre Cal teacher, Mr. Kudolis said.

Even the people passing out the candy thought that it was a wonderful idea.

“It was fun passing it out. At first no one knew what it was about; they thought it was for Halloween, but it was nice to inform people, all while feeling festive.” senior student, Gabriella Corona said.
