On Friday, December 14, the varsity girls basketball team played their rivals Travis in a great basketball match up at Bush High school at 7 p.m.  The Broncos came out the first half with a rough start only putting up a total of 14 points. Travis played intense defense making it hard for the Broncos to find their rhythm.

Broncos seemed to find their mojo coming out from halftime scoring 22 points and only allowing the Tigers to score 9, the lowest they scored in all 4 quarters. Tigers out played the Broncos in the final quarter winning the game 54 to the Broncos 43. Broncos Junior point guard Arianna Sturdivant had a solid game, but she wasn’t happy with her team’s performance.

“We fought hard tonight, but we didn’t capitalize on big opportunities. They came out more aggressive, so we’ll work on our mistakes in practice and prepare for the next game,” said Sturdivant.

Sturdivant had 22 points and 4 steals.
