The Varsity Volleyball Broncos faced Klein Oak at Bush High School in the gym. This happened on Tuesday, August 27th at 6 p.m. The Broncos had a hard loss, but it won’t affect any of their district games.

Before games, the players practice everyday. They do practice plays against JV and do different warm-ups, such as controlling, defense, getting the serves, or spikes up. The players run for any mistakes until it is played right. Practices develop quickness, such as moving on time, and strength with weights so the ball and serves would go harder and bump up.

Kayla Flowers feels supported by the fans. “I think Bush is just good at coming out to our home games and really getting us hyped to show out,” Kayla said.

Flowers also have advice to what the team needs to work on. ” I think I could improve how to stay positive when we’re down in  the game,” Kayla said.

Kayla mentioned that volleyball doesn’t affect any of her school routines, but if any in-school tournaments it could throw off any work ethic. “Volleyball doesn’t affect my school routine drastically but when there are in-school varsity tournaments, it could throw off your work ethic if you aren’t catching up on what you should,” Flowers said.

Kayla’s favorite motivational quote comes from Russ Rose, the Penn State Volleyball Coach. “You’re either getting better or getting worse. I don’t think you stay the same in sports. If we want to achieve something special in the game, then those players have to recognize that game, they’re responsible everyday for getting better.” Rose said.
