Lady Broncos set up to cover opponents free kick

On Friday, January 17th the Girls Varsity Soccer Team played against Katy Paetow. After an exciting game, the Lady Broncos were able to come back and end up with a 2-2 draw.

The Lady Broncos began the first half making amazing plays, but unfortunately, we’re not able to score any goals. By the end of the first half, the Lady Broncos were down 2-0.

“I believe the team needs to work on concentrating in the first half. They also have to not feel pressure in the first minutes and to not underestimate their opponents. They have to practice their give and goes and to not hold onto the ball for too long,” Jason Santizo said.

The second half the team knew they had to give their all in order to either tie the game or score enough goals to win. The team came back and Mercy Lawson was able to score two goals bringing the game to a tie.

“I think the team needs to work on communication because that comeback wouldn’t have happened if the hadn’t worked as a team,” Team Manager Ariana Lara said.

The team will play again on Tuesday the 28th against Kempner JV at 5:30, and Varsity at 7:30 at Kempner High School.
